Jean Paul's Vineyard is owned and operated by William de Castella, a direct descendant of Hubert, Paul and Francois de Castella, of Yarra Valley fame from the mid-1800s, and is Certified Organic/Biodynamic by NASAA (National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia, reg no 3465). The Vineyard produces small amounts of fruit which are made into truly distinctive wines.

Ros Ritchie was winemaker for Delatite from its inception in 1982, where she produced and grew their range of wines; these included the classic aromatics, methode champenoise sparkling, as well as red varietals and blends. Many of these wines gained consistent critical acclaim both nationally and internationally. She took several opportunities to travel within France, Germany and Italy, but especially to Alsace, Baden, the Mosel, Rheingau and Pfalz, whose wines strengthened her passion for Riesling and Gewurztraminer and stimulated her interest in Pinot gris. These aromatic varietals were the inspiration for Ros to found Ros Ritchie Wines in 2008.
